VoIP Phone System

Public Switched Telephone Network. Progressively being phased out in Australia in favour of VoIP, along with the expected issues of not being able to use the phone during a power failure.

Thanks again… It may be a common term here, I’ve just not heard of it. I lead a sheltered existence.

With OOMA, the basic service for as long as you keep it, is paid for up front (I paid $199). After that, the monthly fees are for taxes and access fees for 911 service. It was $3 and change when I started it, and it’s $4 and change now. Unlimited free long distance in the US and very reasonable per-minute international rates.
