QUESTION
I’m trying to redesign and replace bunch of locating pins which currently are made of O2 Steel with 440C SST ones to avoid corrosion. The pins must be magnetic. Has anyone ever compared these two materials magnetic strength? Any idea in case 440C is less magnetic? How much?

Since neither of these is considered an alloy where magnetism is an important property, you will find very little data. Also, it will vary greatly from batch to batch. However, I can assure you that 440C is quite magnetic.
