QUESTION
Can anyone let me know the maximum deflection limit (Span/limit) for a steel platform structure?
I am planning to design this platform using steel columns and beams and 6 mm plate is welded to the top of the joists (as the supporting slab). I am using BS 5950 code for member design.
The purpose of the steel platform is to use for storing of crates of production material (each crate weighs approx 20KN).
