Genetic Testing - Good News!

In this day and age, genetic testing and genetic geneology are really making a difference to some folks.

My wife’s best friend was adopted at birth, 61 years ago. Her adoptive Mom and Dad have passed; she thought she was all alone. A couple years back, she submitted one of those genetic geneology tests. She’s always searched for her birth family, but her records were sealed by the courts. Last night, she learned she had two brothers and a sister! She said it was like waking up on Christmas morning and finding the world’s best present under the tree!

I am going to send in my 23 and me kit in a day or two. Suspicious of what I will find, but the results should be interesting. My youngest daughter, wife, and mother-in-law have already received their results.

I have 3 half-brothers and all have been found. Two were through DNA analysis in the past year. Needless to say, they were all shocked. We’re not very close but we’ll see what the future holds. It’s provided closure for us older ones.
