QUESTION
I am using a metal mould to shape some carbon fiber prepreg into an oven at 120ºC-250ºF

The new prototype is too heavy and I am at the limit of the manufacturer recommendations.

I need to let the hot air flow below it and distribute the weight on the oven bottom so I made a simple support such the one in the picture

Since I can’t afford to put in more weight I was thinking about making this support out of plastic.

I checked and the options I found are PEEK (too expensive) and PTFE (not much lighter than aluminium).

Are there any interesting options?

I was thinking maybe some foam, such styrofoam or something stronger such rohacell

What do you think?
