The corner moment is about 850 'K for a W24x94 (50ksi)… and CJP welds are likely essential… for the beam to work, the corners have to go into the plastic zone… I don’t create these problems… I just try to solve them.
Thanks… it’s probably better to clean up the mitre weld and put the stiffener in the correct way… at least get something that makes sense. BART’s welding was pretty much in line… but I"d have made the connection of the beam end to the flange with bolts…
