So, with all the hype here, and considering the last full moon was on July 21st, why is the full moon on August 18 a blue moon? I understand “super” but not blue.
Ok. It is. SEASONAL, as in summer, Blue moon, not a true Blue moon which is two full moons in a month.
So the true name is a “super seasonal blue moon”, not a super blue moon.
Interesting!
All of these named moon events conflate rarity with “infrequent, but entirely predictable”.
I agree. I find myself looking up terms like “super” on the infrequent events.
Maybe hype caused some Blue Moon Stupor.
