Is anyone else as shocked as I am that Michael Palin did not say “Ni!” immediately after being knighted? I feel as though it would have been in good taste even in that setting. Anyway, what a guy, good on him.
I suppose when your in such a solemn ceremony it’s really not the place to crack jokes but I would have loved to see him say NI!
Did he at least bring Prince William the shrubbery he asked for?
Certainly took a lot of years for the Knighthood to happen.
I believe he did. Only it was slightly higher than the one he already had to create a nice two-level effect with a path down the middle.

It will be a sad day when knights can get away with saying “Ni” to the queen.
I can just hear her thoughts, “Will no one rid me of this meddlesome knight.” She’s too graceful to state it outright.
