QUESTION
I have a tank fabricated and inspected under ASME VIII but without a stamp. We need to weld a plate perpendicular to the nozzle. The question is, does ASME VIII dictate we make the pressure test again?

IF this vessel has not been stamped and the data report has not been signed, I would make the argument that the vessel is NOT yet completed. UG-99 tells you the pressure test must be completed again…
A hydrostatic test shall be conducted on all vessels after all fabrication has been completed…
