Anyone had COVID Vaccinations yet?

Actually, I just received my Covid Booster shot and my flu shot today. I didn’t think it was permissible to get both jabs on the same day, but live and learn.

It’ll be a week or so before the pharmacy’s near us have the inventory to open up for boosters.

@Latexman,
We are not open for boosters for people under 75 either, so my 64 year old son doesn’t qualify yet, but at 88, I qualify. I made an appointment for the Covid booster, but when I got there, the nurse asked if I wanted to get my flu shot too, so I gladly agreed.

Two birds, 1 rock. Lovely!

Got my covid booster shot and shots for flu, whooping cough, and shingles. Still need to get my pneumonia shot. My arm looks like a pin cushion!

SWMBO and I got the Moderna booster today at Walgreens. The pharmacist wasn’t the greatest injectionist, but I’m not complaining. She made the wife flinch though.

Not sure if this is widely known yet but it’s recently been confirmed that many strong reactions to the Covid shots has been traced to the vaccine entering the bloodstream rather than remaining lodged in the muscle tissue. It’s supposed to be absorbed slowly from the muscle tissue and slowly distribute. When the needle gets a blood vessel the vaccine is transported through the bloodstream which provokes a reaction from many systems in the body. Immunity is still given to the recipient, but you can do it without the acute shock by checking that the needle hasn’t hit a blood vessel first. This may also be associated with the cases of blood clots that caused panic mostly in Europe last year.

Both my shots I had no little drop of blood come out of my arm, and felt no side effects at all. Not statistically significant, but consistent with that finding.

When I ripped the bandaid off, there was no blood, so . . . :+1: .

Arm pain this morning is a 1 on the 0-10 scale. Just like the previous two shots.

Yesterday as the day went on, I developed a 1-2 degrees F fever and the chills. It was resolved by alternating motrin and acetaminophen the rest of the day. This morning, no fever.

SWMBO got hers a few weeks or so ago. By the time I tried to sign up, the waiting list had grown - just got mine last week (Weds.). Minor arm pain for a couple days, and a bit of fuzzy headedness for a day, about like the first two. Got the flu shot too, because I was there…

We have two people at work get the virus, both unvaccinated. One of them said he took ivermectin to help beat the fever. Both were regulars at the pub for Friday lunches, both now can’t go because the pubs are only open to the vax’d. Shrug.

Access to the Pubs, is a great reason to get vaccinated!

I’ve had Pfizer’s and their booster. I’ve been exposed but haven’t gotten super sick so something is working.

I’m positive I had covid in Feb. 2020 and it was brutal. It didn’t get into my lungs but, if it had, I wouldn’t be here today. My trachea felt like a hot welding rod from my throat to the entrance to my lungs. I had coagulating blood in my sinuses, which was really weird until others started having that problem in various parts of their bodies. I had all the other symptoms of it. Brutal.

However, I didn’t develop antibodies because my immune system was suppressed because of CIRS, mold toxicity. My body didn’t develop antibodies to a diphtheria booster for the same reason.

Now that I am done with CIRS my body seems to be working properly except for one hormone, which should be corrected in about 5 weeks. Fingers crossed.

I would have preferred missing all of this excitement. I’m not a particular fan of any administration now but at least Obama’s learned to isolate bugs that can get out of control and quickly. Trump’s admin should have taken that page and run with it. It’s stupid that they didn’t.

Least anyone forget, during the Trump administration we did develop three vaccines. Now it would sure be nice if we could take a pill, instead of a shot for a booster.
Not that I think Biden is less capable than Trump, but he seems to be different focused.

There sure is plenty of blame to go around. We can start with not having the internet capacity in rural areas, as we were promised and taxed for. This happened across several administrations and states, and for years. Hard to have remote learning on slow internet. It would also help remote medical needs.

I do hope you get better.
