Generate a dot leader list in Excel

Each office application has its pros and cons. Like a toolbox, each tool is meant for a particular job. A word processor has this advantage in generating dot leader lists. But on occasion, you will be using a spreadsheet and in it, there is no built-in dot leader feature.

But there is a way, if you are willing to use a fix pitch font, like Courier New. It can give you a display like this in Physical Characteristics

B1: is a user input for the minimum number of dots
C1 & D1: calculates the maximum character length
E1: calculates the total character length of Physical Characteristics
The formula in E3 can be viewed in the Formula Bar.
